As many of you already know, going to afternoon tea is one of my daughter’s favorite activities. She started hosting tea parties with her dolls as a toddler, then graduated to kiddie tea parties at the Eloise store and now she loves the real deal afternoon tea at fancy hotels like NYC’s Plaza Hotel. On our recent trip to London, we had a super fancy tea at Kensington Palace and I couldn’t help but giggle when my daughter asked if the Queen was coming.
Sooooo, when I was asked to review the new childrens book, The Queen Is Coming to Tea by Linda Ravin Lodding, I had a feeling my daughter would love it. The colorful tale follows Ellie around the world as she gathers everything she needs to host the Queen for tea. The first stop is to Paris for a cake, then they head to China for the tea and Italy for lemons and finally to New York City for a fancy dress.
My daughter loved following along, guessing what would be the next destination and I loved the colorful illustrations. If you have a little tea party host or hostess in your family, this book will be a big hit.

I was given a copy of the book for review purposes but all opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links. If you don’t want to miss a post, subscribe to Globetrotting Mommy for daily updates!
